My Happy Halloween!

Hi guys, I'm back from Pittsburgh and filming Sorority Row!! :) This year choosing my Halloween costume was a little last minute. I went the day of and chose to be a peacock. I thought the feathers were gorgeous and it was something totally different than last year.

A few friends, my sister and I went to the Roosevelt for a Halloween party. Marilyn Manson was hosting it. Although it was super packed it was so much fun!

Treasure Hunt: Pumpkin Facial

Fall is one of my favorite times of year, so I thought I would share with you one very fall beauty secret... Pumpkin! It is so good for your skin because it is full of antioxidants and vitamins. Here is a recipe for a pumpkin mask and a pumpkin spice scrub for you guys to try that I found at care2.com. Try them and let me know what you think! Both are posted after the jump.

Pumpkin Facial Mask
2 teaspoons cooked or canned pumpkin
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon milk (or whipping cream, if your skin is very dry)

1. Combine ingredients and apply to a clean face with gentle circular motions, avoiding the area around your eyes.

2. Allow mask to remain on skin for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water, pat dry, and apply your usual moisturizer.

Pumpkin, Sugar, and Spice Scrub
1/2 cup cooked or canned pumpkin, pureed
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1. Combine ingredients in a bowl.

2. Stand in a tub or shower stall and use a damp washcloth to scoop some of the mixture up. Apply to body, starting with your feet and working your way up, but avoiding your face. Scrub gently using circular motions.

3. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

Oh wow! Dramatic high school years! I don't even want to remember those! Haha. Of course, they really weren't as bad as they seemed. At times high school can seem like the worst thing that can ever happen. But, everything you experience is going help you grow and learn about yourself. The drama helps you prepare for real life -- that's when you first start learning about politics! Haha.

My advice for anyone about to embark on their high school adventure is to worry less about your social life, and focus on your education. Once you graduate no one is going to care how cool you were in high school or if you were in the popular crowd. Your future boss surely isn't going to care that you got best smile or class flirt!

My Maxim Photo Shoot

Hey guys! I'm being featured in the November issue of Maxim. It comes out early next week and I thought I would give you all a little sneak peek and a behind the scenes look at the photo shoot!

We actually shot this during the summer in Malibu just a little north of El Matador State Beach. It was quite a production! They actually had a motorhome there where I could get my hair and makeup done.

The shoot itself took ALL DAY and we did 7 or 8 different set-ups. At one point I had to hike up a rocky hill in 5 inch stilettos!! Then for the last two setups I was in the water which was sooo cold! Hopefully you guys think the photos turned out well and it was worth it for me to brave the freezing waves! :)

Fighting Cancer With Fire!

Well sort of. Earlier this week I attended the Firefighter Cancer Support Network's first annual Together We Can 2008 Gala Dinner. It's such an amazing organization! The FCSN helps support firefighters and their families who are diagnosed with any form of cancer.

During the evening there was a silent auction and a live auction. I helped hand out items to the winners while Jay Leno and Rick Chambers did the auctioning. It was a lot of fun, especially because I knew we were helping others. :)

On My Mind: Chatting With Ellen

My appearance on Ellen was aired today, so I posted it here for those of you who weren't able to catch it. We chatted a little about about the recent... situation.

Then I also got the chance to help raise $10,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation by sitting in the dunk tank. It was so cold and then when I fell into the tank I hurt my ankle. :( I posted the clip for you after the jump.

Lucky for me, my injured ankle is allowing me to take it easy today and it's giving me some time to think about everything. I really appreciate all your support during this intense time! xo! ]]>

When you move to a new town, the main thing is to be approachable. Smile a lot! Be friendly and people will be friendly back! :) Don't be afraid to ask someone to show you around, if you're good at sports or have an interest in drama or art... Sign up! You will meet girls with similar interests and it won't be difficult finding things to talk about. Don't forget about your school work either!

A Big Surprise For Ms. Petitt!

I had the opportunity to surprise my high school language arts teacher, Ms. Petitt on Thursday with a huge box of office supplies courtesy of Office Max and their A Day Made Better campaign. She was SHOCKED and so happy!! We even gave her a new leather desk chair and digital camera!

It was so great going back to my old school and giving back to someone who has inspired so many -- including me! Ms. Petitt was one of my favorite teachers so it was a great feeling to see the look on her face as we brought in balloons and cake to celebrate with her whole class.

I found out that Office Max surprised over 1300 teachers this week in schools all over the country, and I feel very honored to be part of such a cool program!

You're at an age where it's completely natural to not be comfortable with yourself or confident, so don't let it bother you. It's supposed to feel that way. I wasn't comfortable with who I was when I was fifteen either. I don't think anyone is!

You just have to be true to yourself and know that these are the years that you're going to look back on and laugh about the silly things you stressed over. Have fun and don't try to grow up too fast! You'll grow into your own skin eventually. :)

Treasure Hunt: A Great Cause!

I want to shine some light on an extremely important, not to mention incredibly overlooked issue that most of us don't even think twice about! Ending the tragedy of homeless animals...

It means a lot to me because I grew up in a home where my mother couldn't pass up a hurt or abandoned animal. We were always nursing some furry creature back to health. On our mission to find a happy home for a kitten we found abandoned and badly injured in the desert, we inspired my Aunt Connie's intense passion for feral cats! Haha! That may sound silly but twelve years later my aunt still has her kitty named Dakota. She also has about twenty other stray kitties all over town she provides food and water for.

I've always admired my mother's compassion for stray animals, yet I'm very allergic to cats (there is actually a funny deleted scene on The Hills Season Three DVD where my younger sister Casey and I shave Lauren's cat to try and help my allergies!).

I was inspired by my aunt's own selfless ambition and I wanted to do something to help! My aunt turned me onto an amazing organization called Clinico. It's based in Los Angeles, but God knows we need these all over the world.

My aunt actually used to set up opossum traps to catch feral cats around her office and bring them into the vet. She'd pay out of her own pocket (around $250 per kitty!) to have them spayed/neutered because she felt so terrible about their living conditions. Then came the Clinico organization and she was excited to be able to continue her efforts in helping put a stop to this tragedy without going broke! It's an awesome way to greatly reduce the number of unwanted cats and dogs, preventing shelter overpopulation and the euthanization of helpless animals!

Just to give an example, on their website they state, "In 2005, Los Angeles animal shelters took in 203,629 dogs and cats. Of that number, 98,241 were euthanized."

Clinico not only provides a high quality clinic to spay/neuter, but if you guys have pets they also offer flea medication, rabies shots (only $8) and all kinds of incredibly low cost services. I know I can't go to an animal shelter without wanting to take home every cute dog/cat I see and save them, so this is a way I feel we can all help out. Even if you can't donate, you can take care of your own furry best friend for a lot less money than your regular vet!

You can take the money you save and get a male cat neutered. With the price of gas these days if you rode a bike whenever possible (while getting some good exercise) you would be preventing thousands of homeless cats and dogs!

My guest spot on Fox's MADtv will be airing this weekend and I'm so excited! You can catch it on Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 PM (or 10:00 PM for all of you in Central time!). The skit I am in is called "Audrina Brings the Drama" and I hope it makes you guys laugh!

The cast of MADtv is so nice and hilarious! I had the greatest time with them. I got to film with the entire cast!! Arden and Nicole :) ... I love them!!! Crista and Bobby Lee LOL ... and of course Keegan!!! I can't say I had a favorite, they were all my favorite! One of the scenes toward the end was a little weird for me to film, but it's funny. We made lots of faces!!!

I loved getting to poke fun at myself as well at the show a bit, haha! I can't wait to see the final results and your reactions. You guys will have to let me know what you think!
